3 Questions to ask to get clients refer business to you

Do you know how many of your recent clients are satisfied AND will refer business to you? If you don't, well... just ask them! Send a survey, have them fill in a form, or directly ask them.. If you ask them, you'll know where your strength and where you should improve. Colliers now ask these 3 questions to our recent clients:
  • Would you refer Colliers International to a friend or colleague?
  • How would you rate Colliers International's service levels as provided during your most recent experience?
  • During your recent experience with Colliers International how do you rate the level of Property knowledge of our personnel?
The goal was to get clients perception for our service & property knowledge, and to ask whether they would refer business to us in the future. And the survey result from January to April 2009 are.. drumrolls, please.. 100% of our Office Tenant Representation & Retail clients who responded stated they will promote us to their friend/colleagues! In average, Colliers service was rated 8,31 out of 10, and our property knowledge was rated 8,62 out of 10. Wow!

Are you our recent client and wants to give your feedbacks? Or maybe you're currently looking for property advisory and you want to know what services Colliers provide? Just drop me a note!

Colliers university: The best real estate/property professionals training

One of the good thing in working at Colliers is to have a free and unlimited access to the property knowledge base, both for national & international coverage. Colliers knowledge base is collected at the Colliers University, where we can take various courses/training in property related business and personal growth as well. We can run with our own pace: the presentation slide (with interactive test included), watch recorded webinars/listen to recorded audio, and held workshop for team activities. Since the internet connection here is not as fast as in US, I personally prefer the slides.

After we finished the training we can print the transcripts and certificates. The university also have curriculums specialized for a region (Asia Curriculum) or other category, as well as course suggestions for certain management level or new entry in certain division. There are also modules for beginner or advanced topic (for example: Real Estate 101 for beginners, Introduction to valuation/appraisals, Understanding Capital Markets for Investment Services, etc).

So no need to worry, now you're in the right hands :)

Great character drives great success

We have Character First Training today! It's a bi-monthly company event held by Colliers for the employees. And the topic is Orderliness. It is about arranging your self and your surroundings to improve efficiency. It'll help you save your time, be more productive and reach your goals/objectives. So the key steps to build orderliness are:

1. Set priority
2. Set a standard
3. Be organized
4. Avoid clutter
5. Put away - right away

And.. After the training we have Character Recognition. Surprise surprise, today we also have Colliers' Regional Star of Excellence 2008 awards, which is given to people who contribute to more than US$ 200,000 to company revenue. The awards were given to Bagus (Director of Office - Property Representation & Office - Tenant Representation) and Retno (Senior Associate Director of Office - Tenant Representation). WOW! CONGRATULATIONS to Bagus & Retno!

See what I meant? Colliers' consultants are really THAT good! ;)

Doing great in this economy

When I read the promotion announcement for my colleagues two days ago, I'm not surprised that they did, I'm just surprised that it's "OMG.. THAT fast?". It certainly felt like it's just yesterday when Meka joined the Office Property Rep team, back in 2007. I don't even know her that well, but when I first look at her I know she'll be that successful. Just like when I first met and interviewed Danny (also in 2007), I know he'll be great; and look, now he's having his dream job at Colliers Singapore (kudos to you, Dan!). Both of them has the right skill and attitude; both knows how to look good, and they're willing to take the extra miles.

And to get a promotion in this economy? That's just pretty awesome, don't you think? I noticed for the consultants, it's like having a natural selection. People just come and go. And those who stayed? They're in the right track and bound to be successful one day, if they're not giving up. I just can't believe she really achieved being Account Manager in 2 years.. wow. Anyway, if you have great people in your team; don't let them go! It's the secret of doing great in this economy.

CONGRATULATIONS Meka & Ranti!
